I finished the book back in May and it just went on press last week. A signing tour and book release party are in the works so stay tuned for dates and locations!

APRIL 2008

SUPER SPY NOMINATED FOR AN EISNER!
The Eisner Awards were just announced and Super Spy was nominated for best graphic novel (reprint). You can see all of the nominees here. Thanks to the judges and if you can vote, don't forget to vote early and often! Also throw your votes to my friend Jeff Lemire -- also nominated for two Eisner's for his Tales from the Farm series -- I'm glad we're not in the same category -- those books are really good.

SUPER SPY SELLS OUT COMPLETELY!
A second printing will hit stores and conventions in June. Thanks to everyone who bought the 1st printing and made it successful. I really appreciate it!
That said, I do have about 10 personal copies of the 1st printing left of the paperback and 1 copy of the hardcover left.

ART SHOW
Several pieces from my new graphic novel Super Natural will be on display at the Sheldon Concert Hall Art Gallery. The exhibit which opens on May 16th features all St. Louis cartoonists throughout the history of the city. You can find more info here.

NEW BLOG
Can't believe I'm keeping up with my blog but I am. I'm posting art and sketches from my two new projects that I'm working on. One is a new 200 page graphic novel from Dark Horse called 3 Story: The History of the Giant Man -- and the other book I'm working on is Super Natural, the 2nd book in the Super Trilogy, and the follow up to Super Spy to be published by Top Shelf. Both books will be done by the end of the year.

SUPER SPY NAMED INDIE BOOK OF THE YEAR!
The latest issue of Wizard Magazine has an interview with me along with a feature naming Super Spy the Indie Book of the Year! Thanks Wizard! Also if you live in the St. Louis area there is a cover story on graphic novels and creators that features interviews with myself and other local artists here in town.

MID-OHIO COMIC CON!
I will be appearing at the Mid-Ohio Comic Con this weekend -- November 23-25 signing books, selling original art and doing sketches and commissions. Stop by and say 'hi'!

NEW SUPER SPY FLASH COMIC ON-LINE!
I created this story last year to tie in with the Super Spy graphic novel. When it came time to start production on the book -- I couldn't figure out how to get this story in there -- so I created a series of cards that you can put together to read the story but with the help of my friend (thanks Brian) we created a Flash version of the story that you can read on-line. SPY SHOP
The Super Spy Shop is all new and updated! Several of the hand-made items he's been selling at conventions are now available on-line for the first time -- and he is doing commissioned pieces of art for the first time ever.

HARVEY AWARD WINNER
Matt Kindt won the Harvey Award (with Brett Warnock) for the book design of Alan Moore and Melinda Gebbie's Lost Girls Graphic Novel. Click HERE for a photo of Matt and the fancy glass and metal trophy.

SUPER SPY CRITICAL REACTION
All of the Super Spy reviews (so far) have been 100% positive. Velocity Comics says "one of the best books that broke-out at San Diego this year."

MATT KINDT INTERVIEW

FRENCH SUPER SPY
Matt has recently signed a contract with the French publisher Futuropolis to publish a French-language edition of Super Spy. This edition will be slightly larger than the US version and also exclusively hardcover. Futuropolis is one of the largest indie publishers in France and has published works by French super-stars Blutch and David B. among others.

NEW BLOG
Matt has started a new blog that will have sketchbook material, info on upcoming projects and information about his recently completed first prose novel.

MATT KINDT HOW-TO VIDEO
Matt recently posted a time-lapse video of the creations of one panel of one page of his new book Super Spy. You can watch as he creates the rough layoug, pencils, inks and final color. Watch it here.
